 Are You Going To Heaven?

Dear Friend,

Salvation is the most important issue in this life, for it is of eternal value. Have you ever been born again? "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." (John 3:3). The question IS NOT, "Do you go to church?" or "Do you tithe?" or "Do you pray?" No, the question is, "Have you ever been born again?"

If you have never been born again, when you die you will be damned eternally in a devil's hell. According to the Bible there is a hell. Hell is a place of eternal torment and pain, a place of literal burning hell fire, a place where the lost are eternally separated from God and the saved. (Luke 12:5; Matthew 23:33; Luke 13:28; Luke 16:25;  Mark 9:44, 46, 48; Luke 16:26; 2 Thessalonians 1:9). Whether one believes in a hell or not doesn't change the truth of God's word. There is a hell!

Only Jesus can save

"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." (Acts 4:12) "Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:" (Acts 13:38). "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (John 14:6) Baptism, confirmation, sacraments, confession to a priest, church membership, repeating a prayer, etc. cannot save

Jesus must save alone

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." (Ephesians 2:8, 9) It's not Jesus plus something, or Jesus minus something--it is Jesus alone.  "Through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved..." (Acts 15:11)

Jesus saves only sinners

"For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost." (Matthew 18:11)  "I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." (Luke 5:32) "This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief." (1 Timothy 1:15)

The fact is everyone is a sinner and stands in need of salvation,  "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23), but only those who have been convicted by the Holy Spirit of their sinful state can be saved.

"And when he [the Holy Spirit] is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:" (John 16:8)  "No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him..." (John 6:44)

Conditions are simple

Turn from sin--"Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ." (Acts 20:21) "I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." (Luke 13:3)

Turn to Jesus--"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:" (John 1:12)

Come as you are--"Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool." (Isaiah 1:18) "But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick." (Matthew 9:12)  "All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out." (John 6:37)

The Philippian jailer asked, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house." (Acts 16:30, 31) If you will trust Christ and your family will trust Christ then you will all go to heaven! What a glorious thing to be in heaven with your loved ones!

Delay is dangerous

"How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;" (Hebrews 2:3) The rich man in the parable presumed he had plenty of time. "But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee..." (Luke 12:20) "He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy." (Proverbs 29:1)

"Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts." (Hebrews 4:7) "Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation."  (2 Corinthians 6:2)

If you come to Christ for salvation, He will receive you

"All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out." (John 6:37)

Real Salvation will effect a change

Do not deceive yourself with a profession of faith. A real relationship with Jesus will change your entire life. "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." (2 Corinthians 5:17) If Christ has dealt with your heart and you have received Him as Lord and Saviour then your life will change. The fruits of the Spirit will be in your life (Galatians. 5:22-24). You will have a desire to read the word of God (1 Peter 2:2). You will want to follow the Lord in believers baptism and join a New Testament Baptist Church (Acts 2:41, 47)
